Bridport Fashion and Textile Network invite you to a talk and workshop with ‘HEREWEAR’ on empowering local, circular and bio-based textiles.

HEREWEAR is a Europe-wide research project, developing new types of textile fibre from biological waste, such as seaweed, manure and straw. Alongside technological innovation, the research team aim to help local communities develop plans for local, circular textiles production.

5.00pm-7.30pm: Hands-on workshop developing ideas for Bridport

The UK partners will be leading a workshop at the LSi, Bridport for anyone interested in driving forward local textile production.

The event will be an opportunity to:

● Hear about some of the latest developments in circular and sustainable textiles

● Discuss how we could apply some of these ideas in Bridport and West Dorset

● Discuss emerging plans for re-establishing hemp and flax production

● Experiment in a hands-on way with examples of bio-based textiles
